A little more than a year ago I wrote about the amazing Guggenheim museum’s architect, Frank Ghery and his postmodern design of a purely gorgeous vision that boggles the imagination while capturing the essence of “different.” Of course I threw in fashion, what can seemingly be perceived as a grid of binary oppositions but in fact has some similarities. After all it is ever changing and we continue to be infatuated with appeal and intend of fashion trends and aesthetic perseverance of beauty.
When I mentioned Frank Ghery I compared his postmodern building with the postmodern structure of Gucci’s ruffle during the winter of 2013; yes I absolutely loved the Gucci ruffle dress. Looking back at the pictures, I still definitely do. There is just something so beautiful about the lines and unexpected grandiose ruffle outlining its silhouette. So it’s actually completely unplanned that a year later, I’m in Bilbao Spain standing in front of Frank Ghery’s Guggenheim museum creation wearing a ruffle rain jacket by Darling UK Clothing.
Without even thinking about the previous Gucci ruffle post, I absolutely fell in love with this Darling grey ruffle jacket before heading to Spain. It was light but perfect for the rainy season in Bilbao. If you’ve taken a trip to the northern region of Spain than you know exactly what I’m talking about. An umbrella in one hand during the winter /spring season is an absolute must, because you really never know if it’s just a slight drizzle or going to be a downpour.
