Last week I had the honor of speaking at Guardians Young Women’s division for the let’s Get Glam for 2014 fundraiser event. The fabulous event took place at Motykie Med Spa at the cusp of Sunset Plaza meets Beverly Hills. If this location sounds familiar to you then you may have been watching a little Dr. 90210, but this evening was about charity, reaching out to a community and getting involved in an organization where your voice matters.

How many times have we wanted to be part of a philanthropy organization but felt that beyond writing a check their was really no opportunity to connect with the organization to facilitate change or see how funds actually get used. At the Guardians Home For the Aging new and existing members actually get to participate in planning events, and helping the organization be the best possible at doing what it does.

So naturally they had an all girls beauty inspired event, where cocktails were served, snacks, sandwich’s and my favorite: cookies. As guests indulged in consultations with make-up artists, stylists from Assembly Salon, skincare gurus and Fashion Trend Forward talk happened, memberships were bought and renewed for a new year of Guardians adventures.

Because fashion and philanthropy go hand in hand, I did a giveaway at the event featuring the fabulous Lori Leigh travel jewelry box in bright orange. Everyone loved this convenient, stylish way to pack your jewels, after all organization and tangle free is essential for you and your accessories!
