NYFW MAC Backstage Beauty Secrets With Lyne Desnoyers at Rosie Assoulin

Beauty Secrets Revealed Backstage at Rosie Assoulin Fashion Show NYFW

New York Fashion Week has been a dazzling array of beauty colors, tips, tricks and backstage beauty secrets revealed for the fall/winter 2014 beauty trends. But with all fantastic makeup application in mind, when you master a routine that brings out your inner glow of radiance and beauty, you either jump for joy and stick with it or your inquisitive mind wanders into a continuous cycle of perfection.

To be perfectly honest I think we do a little of both, because when new colors arrive we can’t help but want to play and discover new solutions to achieve an incredible you.

I’ve been detailing beauty secrets this Fashion Week and got to chat with Lyne Desnoyers, MAC Executive Director of Makeup Artistry and visionary behind the Rosie Assoulin NYFW presentation backstage before the show began. There’s always an inspiration behind our motifs and visions for beauty and charm and you’ll love what’s to come.

Before the show Lyne Desnoyers and Rosie Assoulin spoke about the beauty vision for the collection, and one thing Rosie really wanted to play with the appeals of rouge to create an incredibly beautiful and fresh look. Lyne Desnoyers approaches makeup in a very classic way with feminine gestures inclusive of a quiet blush, not trying to be overly complicated just incredibly beautiful and fresh.

Annette: So how does one prepare the skin for a perfect pop of blush?

Lyne Desnoyers: Skin is prepared very lightly with just a touch of concealer, lipstick in mocha latte or paramount, but on the lips we are using a fall winter trend pallet called cranberry crush.

Annette: Is there anything on the eye other than mascara?

Lyne Desnoyers: No absolutely not, just a little bit of a line in between the lashes to give depth.

Annette: Not even any eye shadow?

Lyne Desnoyers: The eyes are bare without any eye shadow, just a very transparent texture cream. The highlight is really on the cheek for the Assoulin show with a firm matte look that is really more like a second skin.

Talented makeup artist Lyne Desnoyers continued to explain that the whole idea of putting a blush very high up was to give a completely different dimension to the face, applied to an almost nude, naked skin with a glow stemming from the nude cream blush.

The fascinating part of this makeup application is that it’s so simple and easy to recreate, yet leaves you radiating in your own natural beauty. Many times beauty is brought out in the most simplistic forms. The makeup tips, secrets and discoveries made at New York Fashion Week comes from a level of creativity that distinguishes you as a canvas ready to be your most beautiful self.

Stay tuned for an exclusive DIY as I help you perfect and achieve this look directly from the stunning Rosie Assoulin presentation and share the stunning collection pieces.
